Friendship Parade Guidelines

Welcome to the
Simcoe Rotary Friendship Festival
Parade

Saturday August 1st, 2009

The following are some guidelines to help make your participation a fun and safe experience. The number one item is to remember to have fun; smiles and laughter rule the day!
  1. The parade will form starting at 10:00AM along Colborne Street North between Union Street and Windham Street
  2. The parade starts at 12:00 noon Sharp! If you need help or ideas for decorating your float please do not hesitate to contact the Parade Committee at king.garden@on.aibn.com
  3. Awards will be presented in a number of Categories soon to be announced. Check our website periodically for updates!
  4. Washrooms will be available for use by parade participants at North Public School.
  5. Absolutely NO Throwing of items from the parade float or any moving vehicle. If you have candy or items to give away use walkers at the side of the moving vehicles. This is an important safety issue that must be respected.

The Simcoe Rotary Friendship Festival Parade offers commercial exhibitors an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of their business to the community. Please consider one of the various sponsorship opportunities NOW available. You will not only be helping yourself and the Friendship Festival but also the many charitable efforts supported by The Rotary Club of Simcoe.

Friendship Parade Route

The parade route starts at Norfolk Street and Colborne Street and proceeds south on Norfolk Street. A right turn (west) on South Drive and then disperses at the Norfolk County Fair Grounds. The Parade starts at 12:00 noon with the fly past of 3-4 restored Harvard Aircraft.
